The brief
Verso publishes open-source typefaces and maintains them properly. Its problem was never the drawing — it was credibility. The faces were excellent; the presentation was a README. A foundry that charges nothing has to look at least as considered as the ones that charge, or nobody trusts the licence either.
What we did
- A specimen system, not a template — each family gets its own page shape
- A live axis playground: every variable axis on a real slider, in real text
- Poster export — any specimen becomes a printable PNG from the browser
- Licensing written in plain words, next to every download
