The brief

Cadence is a writing surface for engineering teams — RFCs, design docs, changelogs. Every competitor's landing page shows a screenshot of an editor. We argued that a tool whose entire claim is “it feels like an editor” should let you feel it before the sign-up form, not after.

What we did

  • A working editor in the hero: command palette, slash menu, Markdown input rules
  • Autosave to the browser and export to a real file — no account, no server
  • A docs page that lists only the shortcuts that actually exist
  • Light and dark both designed, not one tinted out of the other

Where it landed

⌘Kworks on the marketing page
10commands, all of them real
0product screenshots on the site

Anyone who tries it in the hero reaches the sign-up already knowing how it feels. That was the whole bet.
